2nd floor Gallery and Meeting Room

There are five murals depicting the Main Street of Hendersonville, North Carolina in 1890, 1906, 1916, and 1934 were painted by William Owen Jones in 1949 on the walls of Dale’s Drive-In Restaurant that was located at 711 Greenville Highway in Hendersonville, NC.
When the building was demolished , these murals were saved and stored for many years by Stuart I. Rubin. Mr. Rubin donated them to the Henderson County Genealogical & Historical  Society in December 2000. After extensive renovation of the murals and construction of a wall for display, the murals were installed in the second floor Gallery of the Society.
